BLACK CATS BACK LEAGUE SCHEME NORTH-EAST Premiership club Sunderland have praised the initiative of a local Sunday morning football league. The Spennymoor Sunday League launched their forward-thinking ‘First Aid First Class’ scheme in the summer, which involved training its members in emergency First Aid and gifting every club with brand new fully-equipped first aid kit bags.....
CHANGE OF CONTACT NUMBER Club secretaries are reminded that all results, or postponed fixtures, MUST now be phoned or text to Secretary Mike Hill on 07773 925748, before 2pm Sundays and before 9pm midweek games. Clubs that fail to inform the league of results to that number before the required time will be penalised in accordance with league rules
HUNDREDS LOGGING ON TO LEAGUE SITE Hundreds of people are logging on to the Spennymoor Sunday League official website every week, statistics have proved. During the 2004-05 season, the site was averaging almost 500 hits a week, while more than 200 unique users were logging on every week. Statistics by web counter provider Bravenet also show the league site is picking up around 20 NEW visitors every week!
LEAGUE CONTINUES CLUB LINK THE Jackson Anderson Accountants Spennymoor Sunday League is once again giving its support to grass-roots football with a cash donation. To continue their long and proud association, the Spenny league has donated £400 to Spennymoor United Football Club as part of the league’s ongoing support to the Unibon League club....
THREE STRIKES AND YOU’RE OUT! THE Spennymoor Sunday League is once again leading the way with an innovative approach to eradicating referee abuse from the touchline. The league is incorporating a ‘three-strikes-and-you’re-out’ policy – meaning clubs that persistently offend will be expelled from the league. While it isn’t a major problem for the Spenny league, they have launched the new strict guidelines so that it DOESN’T become a major problem. All club secretaries and most of the league’s referees attended a meeting last week in preparation for the new season, due to start this Sunday – a day after Saturday’s big Premiership kick-off......
FITTING TRIBUTE TO LATE PLAYER THE Spennymoor Sunday League is holding a special cup final in the name of one of its former members who sadly passed away more than a year ago....
