Old Shildon and Thorns play out draw
Division One round-up
OLD SHILDON and Thorns battled out a 1-1 draw last week to spice up the championship title race already.
Shildon were dealt a hammer blow last week as they lost to Masons Arms 6-1.
But they held champions Thorns 1-1 last week thanks to a Darren Place strike. Simon Smurthwaite scored Thorns’ goal.

Quinns made a 100 per cent start with their second win of the campaign, a 1-0 home victory over
Hunwick Joiners with a goal by Craig Parker.
Voltigeur were 3-2 winners at home to Binchester Social Club with goals by Neil Petch, Billy Ward and Chris Pennal. Graeme Atkinson and John Wheatley scored Binny’s goal.
Aaron McGarr was on target for Tudhoe United at home to Croxdale as they drew 1-1, with Andrew Short scoring Croxdale’s goal.
