Hogans off to double winning start Division Two round-up
HOGANS gave their start to life in Division Two a 100 per cent kick-off with their second win of the season.
Hogans, relegated from the top flight last season due to the re-structuring of divisions, beat Eldon Arms 4-2 last week and followed that up with a 2-1 win at home to Penny Gill thanks to goals by Dean Cummins and Mark Bell. Andrew Kennedy scored for the Gill.
Elsewhere in Division Two, Shildon Athletic were 4-3 winners over Belvedere with goals by Chris Ross (2), Peter Duce and Darren Dodds. Lee Nixon (2) and Tim Hutchinson scored for the Belvedere.
Victoria were 2-0 winners at the Green Tree thanks to strikes by Kevin Tyler and Adam Cunningham.
Finally, Half Moon and Browney played out a 3-3 draw. Paul Moses (2) and Tony Craddockl netted the Moon’s goals, with Carl Turner (2) and John Kidd scoring for Browney.
Meanwhile, in Division Three last week, Fox and Hounds won 6-0 at Masons United with goals by Steven Walton (4), Stuart Rand and Jonathan Hart.
Aycliffe Village also won their second game of the season, 8-1 at Horndale Celtic thanks to goals by Marc Addy (4), Wayne Marram (2), Steve Woodward and Sean Sproats.
The Castle won 6-0 at home to the Navy Club thanks to four goals by Paul Thompson and a brace by Mark Gibbons.
Bishop Masons were 4-1 home winners over the Southerne Club with goals by Kenny Melvin (2), Simon Hodgson and Lee Brown. Scott Hudson netted the Southerne’s goal.
