Bel’s bogey team record second win Division Two round-up
BELVEDERE’S bogey team struck again as they went down to their fourth defeat of the season.
Half Moon hadn’t won since their first game of the season – a 5-2 win at Belvedere.
And they grabbed their second victory of the season with a 5-1 win over the Bishop side.
Steven Tulip opened the scoring and David Hugill added a quick second before Belvedere pulled one back through Brendan Mullen before the break.
But Half Moon wrapped it up with goals by Jon Templeton, Craig Moses and a second by Hugill in the second half.
Manager Alan Metcalfe said: “They must think we’re their bogey team! It was only our second win of the season but they may feel hard done to as they probably had more of the ball during the game, to be truthful. We just finished our chances when they came along.”
Elsewhere in Division Two, Shildon Athletic won 4-3 at home to Victoria with goals by Chris Ross (2), Paul Gargett and Wayne Bell. Jason Greenland scored twice for Victoria and Michael Simmons once.
Hogans won 3-0 at home to Eldon Arms with goals by Mark Bell, Jason Colley and an own goal.
