Brancepeth off to cup flier Kelvin McIntosh Division Two Cup
NEW BRANCEPETH managed to kick their divisional cup league off with a good win at home to Green Tree.
Craig Hindmarch scored a hat-trick and there was a one apiece by Chris Jones and Paul Littlewood as they won 5-2 at home to Green Tree, who had Lee Walton and Gavin McIntyre to thank for their goals.
Brancepeth’s Brian Stewart said: “It was a cracking game. I think the result was reflected by our first half performance. I thought were awesome – it’s some of the best football I’ve seen us play.
“Our hopes at this stage would just be to go as far as we possible can in the competition and see what happens – it would be nice to win it!”
The other group B game of the Kelvin McIntosh game between Shildon Athletic and Victoria was postponed.
In group A, Belvedere won 5-0 at home to Penny Gill with goals by Lee Nixon (4) and Alan Lamb. The other group A match between Hogans and Eldon Arms was postponed.
