Lucky four for the Tree Division Two round-up
GREEN TREE picked up their fourth win of the campaign with an impressive win at third-placed Shildon Athletic.
Goals on either side of half-time – both scored mid-way through each half by Matt Carrick – were enough to clinch the win, which lifted them up a place to fifth in the table.
Tree’s Barry Liddle said: “I thought we were always in control of the game. Once we got the second goal they came back at us for a while and hit the bar. It’s a good result for us and shows that we’re getting there – the last two games we hadn’t played very well, but we played well here.”
Elsewhere in Division Two, Browney won 4-3 at home to Belvedere with goals by Andrew Nicolson, David Wallace, John Kidd and Karl Turner. Timmy Hutchinson, Brendan Mullen and Jonathan Millward all scored for Belvedere.
Adam Cunningham, Jason Greenland and Michael Simmons scored for Victoria as they drew 3-3 with Hogans. Paul Welsh, Dean Cummins and an own goal were on the scoresheet for Hogans.
