On-line archive adds to league site
Jackson Anderson Accountants Spennymoor Sunday League

THE league’s website has undergone some improvements for the start of the new season.

The 2006-07 campaign gets under way this Sunday, with 30 teams from the new-look three divisional format kicking off.

And the league’s official website also boasts some new features for the brand new season.

As well as some small changes to the home page, the main new feature is a brand new, easy-to-use archive system, which has indexed more than 400 pages of stories and features since the site was launched three years ago.

League Press Officer Martin Walker explained: “The site has been building and growing over the last three years and, especially with the introduction of the new Game of the Week feature last season – complete with action pictures every week – it started to place a strain on the old system and was complicating the site’s archive system.

“Our webmaster has been carrying out a number of changes and improvements over the summer – some of which are actually unseen to visitors, purely to speed up the site – but also a lot of changes which should help visitors’ navigation around the site.

“The biggest change is the new archive, which indexes every story from the last three years and Game of the Week features, all in an easy-to-use format.

“It just makes the site more user-friendly as we will hopefully continue to build and develop it over the coming season, and we hope the hundreds of visitors that log on every week also continue to enjoy it.”
