Quinns bounce back with win Division One round-up
QUINNS kept up their league form with a strong win at Tudhoe United – scoring four out of only five goals in the division.
After going down 2-1 at Division Three side Bishop Masons in the League Cup a week earlier, the championship-chasers eventually got into their stride at Tudhoe after a goalless first half.
And with two 0-0 draws elsewhere in the top flight, four second-half goals made them the division’s high scorers.
Chris Hodgson netted twice and there was one apiece by Stephen Quinn and Dave Parker.
Boss Keith Brain said: “We had to improve after the disappointment of last week, and we did. It took us a while to score but it was only a matter of time – and once we got the first they were in full flow.”
Meanwhile, Clifford Kirkbride scored the only other goal in Division One last week, for Voltigeur as they won 1-0 at Binchester Social Club.
Amazingly, Croxdale and Thorns played out a scoreless draw, as did Hunwick and Bay Horse.
