LEAGUE HONOUR WINNERS

THORNS were crowned champions at the league end-of-season presentation night last week, held at Old Shildon WMC.
As well as all the club awards, the individual player awards were dished out, with Thorns midfielder Anthony Stewart getting the Player of the Season trophy. Old Shildon’s Ian Maddison was runner-up in the award, but he did win the Top Goalscorer award (pictured) after bagging 40 goals over the course of the campaign. Tudhoe United’s Billy McLacklin was runner-up with 34 strikes.



Michael Davison was the Division Two Player of the Year award, pipping runner-up Mike Hesltine of Cumby Arms, while Hunwick’s Stephen Howe (pictured left) bagged an impressive 51 goals over the 2003-04 season to bag the Top Goalscorer accolade.
North Briton’s Ian Gough was second top with 23 goals.


Legendary man-in-the-middle Alan Robson (right), meanwhile, was presented with the Referee of the Year award.
