BROWNEY top group A in the new-style Division Two Cup league tables after a 6-0 win at Hogans.

A Kevin Turvey own goal sparked the scoring before Stuart Kitching added a second for Browney before half-time.

Andrew Nicholson scored after the break before Kitching added his second, and then Nicholson completed his hat-trick to make it six.

Assistant boss Gavin Mudd said: “We maybe should have scored more goals because we created a lot of chances. They created a few chances in the first half but it was fairly straight-forward.”

Elsewhere in group A, Eldon Arms won 4-1 at Penny Gill thanks to goals by Darren Hewitson (2) and Michael Walker (2). Geoff Hanratty scored Penny’s goal.

In group B, Green Tree won their first game of the competition with a 1-0 win at home to Victoria thanks to a Gavin McIntyre strike.
