Penny Gill recorded their first league win of the campaign with a home victory over Hogans.
The Spennymoor side got off the mark with a 3-1 win – and leapfrogged Eldon Arms into tenth spot in Division One.
New signing Aaron McGarr bagged a brace and Kevin Gilham netted one for Penny Gill as they put an end to six straight league defeats.
“It’s always nice to get three points!” said Penny Gill’ Dave Mutt. “It was the first time we’ve had a full squad of players out and it showed. Having all your players available makes all the difference and it was good to get our first win of the season.”

Elsewhere, leaders Thorns were 5-0 winners at Tudhoe United thanks to goals by Stuart Rand, Anthony Stewart (2), Andrew Richardson and Mark Nicholson.
Binchester Social Club won 6-5 at Voltigeur with goals by Lee Furber (4), John Wheatley and Andrew Hodgson. Chris Hodgson (4) and Chris Pennall scored for the Volti.
Bay Horse won 2-1 at home to Eldon Arms with goals by Dale Anderson and Anthony Watson. Andrew Sams scored Eldon’s goal.
The game between Browney and Old Shildon was postponed.

Meanwhile, promotion-chasers Croxdale and current leaders Victoria played out a 1-1 draw in Division Two. See this week's Game of the Week feature.
