Brit hit five to make it five Division One and Two round-up
NORTH BRITON netted five goals at home to Binchester Social Club to record their fifth league win of the campaign.
The Aycliffe outfit were four goals up by half-time thanks to two goals by Steve Hepples and one apiece by Mick and Carl Dixon.
Hepples then completed his hat-trick after the break to complete a comfortable win for fourth-placed Brit.
And boss Stuart Hodgson said: “They were struggling with nine men at the start but contained us during that time until they were back to the full 11, although after that they never really threatened our goalkeeper.
“I was delighted with the way we played – we produced some nice, one-two play from midfield to beat their off-side trap, so that was very pleasing. Although credit must go the Binchester – as ever, they battled away and never stopped to the end.”
Meanwhile, in Division Two last week, Belvedere won 4-0 at home to Hogans with goals by Lee Nixon (2), Chris Young and James Fieldson. Eldon Arms won 3-0 at Victoria thanks to goals by Darren Hewitson (2) and Tom Wilkinson.
