Five goal blitz kills the Vic
Division Two
FIVE first-half goals by Browney killed off Victoria as they struggled to cope with an early onslaught.
Browney raced into a five-goal lead with goals with a Robert Baron hat-trick plus strikes by Steven Wallace and Stuart Kitchen.
Three of them came within the first five minutes as Victoria were still drawing their breath.
Jason Greenland did manage to pull one goal back before the break and Jamie Airey added a second for the Vic after half-time.
But fuming manager Marcus Jayne blasted: “We were absolutely rubbish – it’s the worst we’ve played for a very, very long time. We just struggled to cope with them in the first five minutes when they got the first three and that killed the game. I just hope it was a blip and that’s our bad game out of the way because we can’t afford to be playing like that too often.”
A delighted Browney boss Gerard Crooks said: “It was a great performance by the lads, very pleasing. We started off brilliantly and the early lead was just what we needed. We dropped points last week but to get such a good result against the Vic is promising for us.”
