Tudhoe up to fifth with strong win Division One round-up
TUDHOE UNITED got their season well back on track with another win to lift them up to fifth in the table.
Alan Barratt and Paul Cantwell scored before half-time to give Tudhoe a 2-0 lead at the break against the North Briton.
Barratt added a third before Christian Schofield made it 4-0, and then Barratt completed his hat-trick before the end.
Tudhoe’s James Curley said: “The game was surprisingly one-sided. The North Brit beat us earlier in the season, although we by no means disgraced ourselves then, but this was a completely different game.
“They seemed to be struggling for players and had a few out of position and I think that helped us.”
Elsewhere in Division One, Masons Arms made it nine wins out of nine with a 7-1 victory at Croxdale thanks to goals by Liam McRoy (3), Marc Costello (2), Steven Fothergill and Lee Atkinson. Karl Lamb scored Croxdale’s goal.
Hunwick Joiners and Thorns played out a 2-2 draw. Stephen Howe and James Melville were on target for Hunwick, while Steven Richardson and Kemal Wall scored Thorns’ goals.
