OLD SHILDON continued their blistering form at the summit of the top flight with an impressive win at home to Hunwick Joiners.
And with champions Thorns without a game, and having lost two league games already, Shildon’s win puts them in a much stronger position at the top of Division One.

They took a first half lead through Craig Richardson, and he added a second after the break to double their lead.
Neil Robinson then missed a penalty for Shildon, but Martin Hedley made sure of the win with Shildon’s third.
Goalscorer Hedley admitted: “I would say the scoreline flattered them a bit – they missed a few chances, but I think overall we deserved to win the game. We’ve really come on in the last few weeks, we got a couple of new signings and it has really made a big difference for us.”
Elsewhere in Division One, second-placed Masons Arms won 6-0 at Bay Horse with goals by Tom Fothergill (3), Liam McRoy, Sheldon Metcalfe and Lee Atkinson.
Croxdale won 3-1 at home to Voltigeur with goals by Craig Flowers, Andy Stewart and Kevin Hepburn. Chris Pennal scored Volti’s goal.
Quinns won 3-0 at Binchester Social Club thanks to goals by Gareth Jackson, Steven Quinn and Chris Hodgson.
