New boys Castle out foxed Sunday 20th August 2006 Division Three
Castle 2 Thompson 2 Shildon Fox & Hounds 4 Boddy 3, Roberts
NEW side Shildon Fox and Hounds came from behind to eventually win 4-2 at fellow new club Castle. Paul Thompson had put the home side ahead before Michael Boddy equalised from the penalty spot for the Fox to make it 1-1 at half-time. Michael Roberts then put the Fox 2-1 ahead with 15 minutes to go before Thompson drew Castle level. Boddy then scored twice to complete his hat-trick and a 4-2 win for Fox. Their Secretary Dave Owen said: “It was a good, strong game and I think both teams will be there or thereabouts when it comes to the end of the season. It was one of those games where I thought we were struggling to score and I thought they might have snuck it, but I think we just edged it and we thankfully got the goals in the end.” Castle Secretary Matty Pattinson said: “I thought we played well and matched them, but we probably didn’t deserve to win the game. It was fairly close and we had a few teething problems to be fair, but they’re a strong side and going on the first performance of the season I think we’re capable of beating them.”
