Sunday 21st January 2007 Division One Tudhoe United 0 Binchester Social Club 0
BINCHESTER boss Steve Sutton was proud of his battling players after watching them grind out a draw with Tudhoe United.
After weathering Tudhoe’s first-half storm, Binchester dug in and held on for a hard-earned point – only their fourth of the season so far.
And boss Steve Sutton said: “After the first 20-25 minutes I thought we were going to get battered because they came at us, but we held on and I think over the 90 minutes we deserved a draw.
“I’ve been watching Tudhoe’s progress, they have had some cracking results lately, so for us it was a great result and even more pleasing just to keep a clean sheet!”
Elsewhere in Division One last week, Old Shildon won 3-2 at Bay Horse with goals by Paul Wilson, Paul Whensley and Chris Strong. Kyle Allen and Dale Anderson scored Bay Horse’s goals.
Craig Parker scored three goals for Quinns as they won 4-2 at home to Croxdale, with David Parker netting the other goal. Gavin Bell and Craig Flowers scored Croxdale’s goals.
