DIVISION Two champions Browney rounded their season off with a cup win in their last game of the campaign.

Browney, who’d already bagged the second division title by nine clear points as well as the Kelvin McIntosh Division Two Cup, bagged the Paul Stevens Memorial Trophy with this 2-0 win in difficult, windy conditions.

Andrew Nicholson put them one up mid-way through the first half before Karl Turner added the second about 10 minutes later – and that was followed by a goalless second half.

Browney boss Gerard Crooks said: “It was an awkward game due to the wind and there wasn’t a great deal between the two sides, I think the only difference was that we took the two chances that came our way.

“It’s been a cracking season for us, with the league title already in the bag. We wanted to win the league and a cup was a bonus, so we’re over the moon to have won three all together, and we’re already looking forward to next season in Division One!”

Fox and Hounds player manager Stuart Rand said: “We didn’t really get out the blocks and I think the lads were a bit nervous, although in the second half we came out and showed what we can do. Well done to Browney, who have enjoyed a great season.

“It’s still been a good season for us. We finished third in the league and made it to a cup final. I’m proud of all the lads for their efforts, hopefully next year will be even better with more of a developed group of players.”
