Tudhoe jump to fourth with win

TUDHOE UNITED jumped to fourth in Division One with a wind-swept win over Middridge Bay Horse.
The Spennymoor side, of mixed form, clinched their seventh league win of the campaign to leapfrog Croxdale.
Gary White gave them the lead before Allan Barratt quickly added a second.
And although Tony Stebbings pulled one back from the penalty spot for Bay Horse, Barratt soon added his second to make it 3-1.
Veteran defender David Stephenson, playing in an unlikely central midfield role, then grabbed his first goal in over two years to make it four before Arron McGarr netted the fifth.
White added the sixth and then Dale Anderson scored a consolation for Bay Horse.
“The wind made it difficult,” admitted Tudhoe manager James Curley. “But it went across-pitch so it didn’t make it any more difficult for either side.
“It’s a result for us and we’re just looking to pick as many points up as possible between now and the end of the season in our last three games.”
Meanwhile, in Division Two, Browney continued their charge back to the top flight with a 3-1 win at home to Shildon Athletic thanks to goals by Karl Turner, Scott Bryden and Andrew Nicholson. Jamie Scaife scored for Shildon.
In Division Three last week, Castle won 3-0 at EBAC with goals by Dave McCormick, Matty Waistell and Mark Thompson. Mark Owen scored EBAC’s goal.
