EBAC grab first points of season Sunday 10th September 2006 Division Three
Bishop Masons 2 Hodgson, Walton
EBAC 3 Owen 2, Ellison
EBAC chalked up their first points of the campaign with a win at Bishop Masons.
Mark Owen put the visitors in the lead, only for Simon Hodgson to draw Masons level.
Owen scored again for EBAC to put them 2-1 up at half-time, and Scott Walton dragged Masons level again after the break. But Craig Ellison netted the third and winning goal for EBAC to give them their first points of the season. And their delighted Secretary Gareth Hodgson said: “It was a fantastic performance and the lads were buzzing with the win. They were a good side, probably the best we’ve played so far, but we worked very hard. It was a great, all-round team performance.” Masons Secretary John Gibson blasted: “We were absolutely rubbish. I’m getting on a bit and haven’t played for years, and I was thinking about putting my boots on, it was that bad! We can’t afford to play like that and we have a tough game this Sunday so we’ve got to improve.”
Elsewhere in Division Three last week, Castle won 5-0 at the Southerne Club with goals by Paul Thompson (3), Daniel Pattinson and Leigh Lamb. Shildon Fox and Hounds beat Aycliffe Village 4-1 at home with goals by Ross Brown, Steve Hall, Michael Lumley and Jamie Martin. Phil Judge scored for Aycliffe. Fox and Hounds won 6-1 at Navy Club with goals by Glyn Porter (2), Stuart Rand (2), Mark Surtees and Lee Gobin. Shayne Wilson scored Navy’s goal. Horndale Celtic won 7-3 at Masons United with five goals by Trevor Dixon and a brace by Graeme Carling. Paul Scott, Jonathan Breckon and Craig Taylor scored Masons’ goals.
