All the fours for the Brit Sunday 8th October 2006 Division One
Croxdale 1 Hepburn North Briton 4 De Lucia 2, Fitzgerald, Miller
NORTH BRITON notched their fourth win of the season with a four-goal winning performance against Croxdale. Joel Miller put the visitors ahead in the first half, and then Michael Fitzgerald and Marc De Lucia netted before half-time to make it 3-0 at the break. De Lucia scored again after the re-start, and Kevin Hepburn scored for Croxdale, from the penalty spot. Brit assistant manager Malcolm Scott said: “It was a very close game – a couple of outstanding goals and a man-of-the-match performance by our goalkeeper was the difference between the two sides. “We scored two from outside the penalty area and our ‘keeper didn’t give them much of a chance with a commanding display, and that proved the difference. It’s a good result for us and means we continue our run of good recent form.” Elsewhere in Division One, Hunwick Joiners won 4-1 at Voltigeur with goals by James Melville, Andrew Howard, Shaun Nicholson and Wayne Fleming. Ian Johnstone scored for the Volti. Darren Scott was on target twice for Middridge Bay Horse as they won 2-1 at Binchester Social Club, with John Wheatley scoring for Binny. Old Shildon won 6-3 at Tudhoe United thanks to goals by Neil Robinson (2), Paul Whensley (2), Ian Maddison and Chris Strong. Pat Watchman, Paul Leadbitter and Arron McGarr were on target for Tudhoe.
